And We Have a Winner, Nintendo’s E3 Keynote

June 7, 2011 Leave a comment

Well in a way that only Nintendo can, they did what most expected and dipped deep into their vault of classics to populate their latest device push. For Nintendo this means most of the games discussed would be related to the Nintendo 3DS the dimension warping hand held. Also as expected we were finally given the first look at the new Nintendo Console the MiiU. Yup of all the possible options Nintendo will be going forward with their love of word play, though I think someone may have just been watching Kung Pow: Enter the Fist well brainstorming. We were treated to some prototype and a look at what upcoming developers were looking at with the WiiU. Of course they could have done all of this and still come out in front in my books, they just did the simple approach of aiming to please their audience. However, we cannot forget that it is the 25th anniversary of the Zelda franchise, and though Skyward Sword is on everyone’s mind, some great announcements were on its way.

Well, lets get right into it after the jump!

Sonys E3 Keynote or when waves turn out to be ripples

June 6, 2011 Leave a comment

Well, as the final keynote presser of the day, Sony had the chance to straight slaughter the earlier shows of the day, now it’s not that they didn’t make their move(see what I did there?) on the competition, but there certainly wasn’t an amazing amount of rumor material coming to light, even from decently backed ones. We also didn’t see a lot of the iconic big names on hand to speak of surprise titles nor known big titles getting much or any time to really sell on stage.  The biggest time slots were devoted to the obvious powerhouse of Sony’s that is Uncharted seeing gameplay from both the PS3 Exclusive title Uncharted 3 and the PS Vita exclusive touch enabled Uncharted Golden Abyss. The other big title to see game time was Resistance 3. Some time was given to address the PSN issues of late, and a lot of focus was thrown towards the new portable PS Vita and Move enabled titles. The majority of the PS3 Exclusive titles shown contained exclusive game modes often related to the PS Move. Well enough of the upper levels lets dive down into it some more after the jump.

Ubisoft E3 Leaves us with Memes and Promise

June 6, 2011 Leave a comment

Well the French never fail to step outside the box that’s for sure, and as always Ubisoft gave us an E3 Keynote in ways that only Ubisoft can. Giving us the most likely new meme from this years E3 is Ubisoft’s Mr.C affine and his time warping “doodle doo doodle doo”  antics. Though I have to give props for having the package to perform in such a manner and attempt to drop joystick penis jokes at the same time. Amongst the bigger surprises for the keynote are the announcements of FarCry3 with gameplay footage and a new Brothers in Arms from GearBox which looks inspired by Inglorious Bastards and a step outside the general Brothers in Arms style. The major stealer of the show though, obviously, was Assassins Creed: Revelations.

Well lets get to it after the jump.

EA E3 Keynote – Game Changers? Maybe….

June 6, 2011 Leave a comment

Ok, so the EA keynote is going to be more directed and its going to be all about the games, you really can’t expect the super unexpected tech style announcements that rock the big three. However, when you hear “Game Changers” you also expect more then some quick pre-rendered trailers, a couple high level looks at what stat tracking we’re gonna be doing, and then an overly long demo of sure some impressive tech and quality with Battlefield 3, but if your not a shooter fan or not a military combat fan, you just won’t enjoy it.

More after the jump!

Microsoft E3 Press Conference – Lets Do This

June 6, 2011 Leave a comment

So the first E3 Presser has come and gone, did XBOX hit it out of the park, I have mixed feelings on this. There were some really good reveals and some big names made their return, but amongst everything that’s coming out is adding or focusing on medium to heavy Kinect integration. The stage started out with a lenghtier demo for the new COD:MW3 but that’s just not my general bag of attraction, so the length felt like it dragged on.

What else happened, check it out after the jump!
